Taco Nuts

Taco Nuts are serving up some seriously tasty tacos.  Today I decided on my own little taco trio.  Details and the funny names of each taco are below.

Chicken Taco (The Chicken Lickin' Vixen)
  • salsa roja, chili mayo, sweet corn, queso fresco, and "lickin sauce"

Pork Taco (Don Chancho Suave)

  • salsa verde, spiced lime aioli, and crispy chicharrones

Beef Taco (El Caballero Loco)

  • shredded brisket, red salsa, chile cremita, cilantro, and pickled red onions

Mexico's Deli

I finally tried Mexico's Deli today after reading a recent review by Alison Cook. I was surprised that I had driven by this place many times and never noticed it.

As soon as I walked in I marveled at the huge wall sized menu with a multitude of choices from soups to tacos to tortas. I also spied a small blackboard on the counter that had "Mexican Sliders" scrawled across the top. This instantly caught my eye and I couldn't resist.

The "Mexican Sliders" are mini-tortas. An order consist of three different pre-selected mini-tortas served with a cup of soup and pickled carrots and jalapeño.

The first was a Cochinita Pibil which is shredded pork simmered in achiote sauce & marinated onions.

The next was breaded Chicken with ham and cheese.

The third was Lomito Argentino and stacked high with steak, ham, cheese, two well done eggs, mustard, mayo, and cilantro.
